Carl Blankenhorn

As a former FVSD student, proud parent of two former FVSD students, and recently retired high school math teacher, I bring a unique perspective to our schools—as a student, a parent, and an educator who understands what students need to succeed in high school and beyond.

I have long admired FVSD’s caring teachers, engaged families, strong neighborhood schools, and tradition of helping students grow academically, socially, and personally. I am running because I want to contribute to that success and help ensure FVSD continues to thrive for every student.

With 30 years of classroom experience and a Master’s Degree in Mathematics, I have dedicated my career to improving student outcomes and supporting great teaching. As your trustee, I will prioritize student safety, mental wellbeing, strong academics, appropriate class sizes, more school counselors, andmeaningful professional development for teachers.

I will listen to parents, value community and professional input, and work to build consensus around a strong 21st-century education for every child. I will also champion transparency, fiscal responsibility, and careful oversight of taxpayer dollars.
